Eric Goulard, a Top Rated voiceover artist on Fiverr, is always looking for new ways to enhance his business. When Fiverr Go’s Creation Model launched, he put it to the test, training it with his own voiceover samples to see if AI could help him reach more clients.
Can AI-generated voiceovers create new opportunities for freelancers? Eric shares what he’s learned, how the tool fits into his workflow, and where he sees AI’s role in the future of voiceover work.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your Fiverr journey.
I'm an audio producer based in France, specializing in voiceovers. While I offer a full range of audio services, my main focus is French voiceover work. I started recording voiceovers to support myself when I was a student, and at the age of 51, it is still my main area of expertise. I joined Fiverr in 2015, and was accepted into the Fiverr Pro program for voiceovers in early 2019.
I immediately created three models, modified them, and trained them with different audio to make them more efficient.
What drew you to try Fiverr’s Creation Model?
I like to experiment with new things, new software and new features, so naturally I tested Fiverr's creation model as soon as it became available. At first it was out of curiosity. I wondered what it could do and how far you could configure it to get good results. I immediately created three models, modified them, and trained them with different audio to make them more efficient.
What was the process of setting it up like?
So the very first phase for me was really about testing, and I think the audio that I initially provided wasn't very good because it contained English words, which made the training a little bit complicated. So I trained it with French texts only, with a sound optimized according to my settings, which is what I deliver to my clients. I can see these results becoming usable for certain client needs, particularly social media advertising.
For me, I see it as a "hook" to attract new customers.
How do you see the Creation Model fitting into your business?
In its current state, the main advantage of the Creation Model is that it increases visibility with new customers. I tell myself that it’s good to compete in this niche. It can’t hurt. The question is, will it bring in new customers? Only one way to find out.
What would you say to other Fiverr sellers who are considering trying the Creation Model?
I think Fiverr sellers would be well advised to try it—they have nothing to lose but a little time. That said, I was surprised at how quickly it can be set up. As with all platforms and marketplaces, visibility is important, so you might as well take advantage of it. For me, I see it as a "hook" to attract new customers. They can test their text with an AI-generated voiceover and contact me for a review and human recording.
